Isaac is known for his roles as Poe Dameron in the recent Star Wars trilogy and as Duke Leto Atreides in the forthcoming Dune film, making him a compelling choice for the iconic video game protagonist.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is set to direct the Metal Gear Solid film, which remains in active development. However, the project has faced significant delays, with creator Hideo Kojima first announcing plans for a movie back in 2006. A production start date has not been established, indicating that release is not imminent.
The casting of Isaac in the lead role may signal renewed momentum for the long-stalled adaptation. In a parallel case, the Uncharted movie, also in development for over a decade, has reportedly begun filming scenes, offering a hopeful precedent for the Metal Gear Solid project.
